So happy to say that William has reached the fun milestone of standing up on his own! About a week and a half ago, I left him playing in his play pen while I went to put some laundry away. I came back out a couple of minutes later and found William standing up with a HUGE smile on his face! He was so excited! I had my camera handy and grabbed it to take a picture while he was still smiling happily at me!

For the past few weeks, when we put Will on his feet in his play pen he would stand there for a bit, but this was the first time he pulled up all by himself. Such a great moment! Mommy, Daddy, and big brother Zachary were very proud, and as you can see below, so was Baby Will!

PS- yes, I know this was blogged out of order. This is a pre-haircut photo :)

William is such an awesome eater. Every day I am amazed by how he tries and loves new foods! Last week, we shared a fruit salad and he ate strawberries, honeydew, mango, and pineapples – all of them except the strawberries were his first time.

I love how he has his arms out like he’s saying “more fruit, Mama!”

William's eyes are so beautiful and the color is unique.

Happy February!

I took some images of my little one last month and thought I’d share. When I photograph either of my kids, I love capturing the beauty of their eyes. When I had Zachary, I never imagined I would have a beautiful blue-eyed boy. I have brown hair and greenish-brown eyes. I assumed that would dominate. But yet, I ended up with a blonde-haired, blue-eyed baby!

When William was born, I was so curious as to what his features would be. It took a long time to figure out his eye color, though his hair has always looked a bit red to me. His eyes were the standard baby-grey for a long time. Then suddenly, there was a color explosion.

Most people, upon first glance, would say that William has greenish brown or light brown eyes.

But if you look closely when he is facing the light, you’ll see that they really are an intensely gorgeous hazel – brown in the middle with blue touching the outside. So unique and different. I love looking into his expressive little eyes.

He’s still young – just seven and a half months – so there’s lots of room for change – but they often say that once a baby is six months old, their eye color is here to stay. If his eyes do change, though, I wonder if the color will be more like mine – brown in the middle, surrounded by dark green? Or maybe they will turn completely brown, or completely green? We’ll just have to wait and see.

How old was your baby when his or her eye color settled?

Adorable images of William's first time eating solid food! He loved it!

On Thanksgiving Day, we decided to feed William his first food – baby oatmeal! We started Zachary on oatmeal at five months old too (click here for some adorable photos of Z’s first time eating).

I was not surprised, William LOVED the oatmeal! His first couple tastes were a little unsure, but by the end he was pulling my hand towards his mouth! I’ve been feeding him oatmeal every day since Thanksgiving and a few days ago started giving it to him twice a day with a little bit of apple or pear puree in it, and he’s obsessed. He says “mmmm” with every bite. It is the CUTEST thing!

Here are some photos of Will’s first time eating oatmeal. Even Zachary got in on the fun and helped with the feeding process.

I realized I’ve never posted these images that I took of Baby Will at the beginning of the month. I am so behind in photo posts. William’s eyes are starting to settle into a beautiful hazel! Sometimes they look green and sometimes brown, but mostly they are blue on the outside with shades of green/brown in the middle. They are gorgeous and a wonderful complement to his big brother Zachary’s striking blue eyes.
