I can’t tell you guys how excited I am about participating in this promotion. I am a huge fan of P&G products and use them every day — seriously! Some of our favorite products include Cascade, Downy, Tide, Pantene, and Charmin — among MANY more! It originally came up as just the poster, so then I clicked through… found the Etsy shop of LuciusArt… and fell in love with it! Pretty much all of this guy’s stuff is awesome. Here are a few more of my favorites….

Chicago Neighborhood 8×10 print – type art… if I could find something like this for Miami or South Florida, it would be mine.

More city art, in the form of a heart shaped map. Again, totally wish he had one for South Florida, but I dig the San Fran wood block art print. San Francisco is one of my favorite places on Earth! How cool would some of his city art pieces be in a travel-themed child’s room? I can almost see it now…

What’s not to love? The  sparkly silver colored legs of the chair, the soft, gleaming white leather? This is a dream piece of furniture for our home, however while my little boy is still using crayons on the furniture rather than his coloring books, it’s a piece that will have to wait until our little one is a bit more grown up.

Not only do I love this chair because it looks comfy to relax on, it is also a really cool looking statement piece in an ultra-modern home.

In the mean time, since there’s no place for a chair like that in my house at the moment, I’ve been looking into expanding my patio decor, and I think that outdoor chaise lounge chairs would be a fabulous addition to our backyard!

We have an awesome, big backyard that is desperately lacking in seating arrangements. I love sitting outside and relaxing with a book while Zachary is playing outside with his toys and with our dog Maya, but there isn’t really any place comfortable to sit. It would be great to have a couple of these great chaise lounge chairs to sit on outside when having Zachary’s little friends over so that the mommies could have some relaxing time too!

My life is pretty busy so the last thing I’m really worrying about is the plants inside my house. The best kinds for me are the ones that you don’t water frequently — or at all!

One day my mom brought over an artificial plant to sit on top of my entertainment center, and wow – it made such a huge difference! I just love it because it is green all year long, and other than doing regular dusting of the area, I don’t have to worry about it or even water it.

Since our home is a bit dark and could use some color, I am also looking into adding some artificial flowers to brighten things up. It would be great to bring in some flowers that don’t grow very well here in Florida, like hydrangeas, or an artificial flower of something I’m not good at growing, like orchids, which I’ve managed to kill every time I attempt to grow them.

Have you tried something new recently? I have. As you may remember, last month I attended the P&G “Have You Tried This Yet” media event right here in South Beach! I had a great time, and it was fun learning about the new P&G products. I was thrilled to be accepted to participate in the CleverGirls Collective “Try Something New” campaign with P&G and Kroger as a follow up to this event, because I did indeed try a new product, and I am now a COVERGIRL convert!! Allow me to explain…

I am what you may call an eye-makeup junkie, and I love makeup and the look of a “finished” eye. I have two gigantic pallets of  name-brand eyeshadow purchased at a large and well known makeup store, as well as various other brands of eyeshadow stuffed into my bathroom drawer. Seriously, way more than I can ever use. And let’s not even talk about eyeliners, brushes, eye primers, etc. I have a lot of makeup.

But mascara? I’ve always had issues finding the right one for me. Usually they are too heavy, or too clumpy, or make my eyes itch, or I end up getting an infection because I can’t get it to wash off properly, even with makeup remover! Not to mention they have all been so expensive since I tend to buy the big name brands at the department store. What a waste that was!

The result is that I haven’t worn mascara in years! What’s a makeup lover to do?!

When I attended the P&G event here in South Beach, I was curious about their Lash Blast Fusion mascara. I haven’t worn any COVERGIRL makeup probably since I was in high school, so I was more than willing to try something new. After all, it couldn’t hurt. Plus, one of my favorite makeup artists was working the event that night, and I trusted her to make me look fabulous!

I knew I had a winner with COVERGIRL’s Lash Blast Fusion even before I looked in the mirror. After the makeup artist finished applying the mascara, it felt so incredibly light on my eyelashes that I had to ask her if she’d actually completed the application. After checking myself out, I couldn’t believe the difference. My lashes looked even longer (something I didn’t realize could be possible – I have long lashes already) and OMG – they were not clumpy or heavy looking!!!! I was in love!

“Have You Tried This Yet” is a P&G Pop Up Event in South Beach this week featuring dozens of P&G brands. Shoppers can stop in and try out or learn about all of the different products. This multi-faceted program is designed to showcase high-performing products with benefits that help consumers (such as busy moms like us!!) meet everyday needs.

My favorite part of the experience (well, aside from meeting so many great new people) was the makeup trial I had with COVERGIRL. Makeup artist extraordinare, Aradia, helped me out by showing off COVERGIRL’s new Lashblast Fusion Water Resistant Mascara. Unlike other mascara I’ve tried, the Lashblast actually goes on really light, and it truly is volumizing. I swear my lashes looked longer! I also enjoyed learning more about Tide with Actilift (since I’m a Tide user) and can’t wait to try out the new Swiffer that I received!

If you’re a P&G fan like I am, you should check out P&G’s brandSAVER in your coupon section. It’s a coupon booklet with crazy awesome savings on your favorite P&G products! I always clip my brandSAVER to pieces because there are SO many fantastic coupons and savings for so many products that I use all the time! You can register online to receive the savings, as well.

First off, I was in dire need of a new iPhone case. My old one was a free case provided by Apple when the iPhone 4′s reception problem came to light. The case was completely falling apart! My friend recommended me the case that she uses, and I purchased it, along with another one. The promotion at the time was for free shipping, so the total I spent on both cases was under $10! Last weekend, my friend Amy and I took Zachary on a trip to the Colonnades at the Sawgrass Mills Mall, which is where all the designer outlet stores are. We stopped into the Kate Spade store and they had a fabulous bag on sale for a mere $53. When do you ever find a designer bag priced that low? Never! I had to get it.

Next in my shopping adventure, a little something for my biz. Believe it or not, but I have not upgraded my camera gear in over 3 years! The last lens I purchased was my 50mm lens back in December 2007. I’ve stuck with the same camera kit and while I feel that not spending money on additional gear has really allowed me to progress as a photographer because I’ve learned to use what I have VERY well, it’s been a long time, and I am ready to add a few new pieces to my collection.

When my photo buddy Joe let me know that he is selling off some of his Canon gear to make the switch to Nikon, I jumped at the chance to acquire a few new items, namely an additional flash, the Canon Speedlite 580 EX II Flash (which is an upgrade from my two EX I’s – and a much needed backup), and the 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens, which will allow me to take beautiful close-up macro shots of rings, wedding details, and even little sleeping babies! I’m so stoked to have a new lens and an additional flash to round out my collection. And since I purchased the items used, I was able to get a much better price!

Finally, I also “bought” another free book on Amazon Kindle for iPhone, called Dreaming Anastasia. Of course now it’s $7, so I’m pretty pleased with myself.

I like it so far, so you should check it out anyway. There are TONS of free Kindle books available all the time.
