Attention Publix Shoppers! From February 23–29 you can participate in P&G’s “One List Life” promotion, available exclusively at Publix: simply select any four fabulous participating P&G items and pick up a FREE Rotisserie Chicken while you’re at it! Learn more at www.savingspg.com.

I can’t tell you guys how excited I am about participating in this promotion. I am a huge fan of P&G products and use them every day — seriously! Some of our favorite products include Cascade, Downy, Tide, Pantene, and Charmin — among MANY more! I find that P&G products are the highest quality out of all the other stuff out there that you can buy at the grocery store, and there’s no one else I would trust to wash my dishes, shampoo my hair, or take care of my laundry. So, when they announced that they are working with my absolute FAVORITE supermarket ever — Publix — on the “One List Life” promotion I was incredibly thrilled to take part as I just love both companies so much!

The way it works is pretty simple. All you have to do is visit your local Publix grocery store and buy any FOUR of the participating P&G products. Visit www.savingspg.com for complete product information. Then, head over to the Deli and pick up a delicious Publix rotisserie chicken (they have some really delicious flavors like BBQ, Mojo, Lemon Pepper – you can’t go wrong no matter which one you choose!) on the house. Yes, you heard right, you get a FREE rotisserie chicken for completing your P&G purchase! The promotion runs from 2/23–2/29 and is available ONLY at Publix supermarkets!

Even better, the free rotisserie chicken you receive is in addition to the already great prices on P&G items. Prices vary by market, but you can save up to $2.50 on Charmin and Bounty, and close to $2.00 on Tide 50 oz. In addition, for those dedicated coupon-clippers out there, if you saved your January 29 P&G brandSAVER, there are coupons for Tide, Charmin, Pampers, Bounty, Iams, Pantene and Cascade that you can stack on top of the in-store savings!

In case you’re curious about what I picked up (in addition to my free BBQ Rotisserie Chicken, which was SUPER yummy for dinner!) — I bought some Tide laundry detergent, Pantene shampoo, Charmin toilet paper, and Cascade ActionPacs for the dishwasher. As a huge P&G fan, I was delighted to take part in this promotion both by shopping for the items at my favorite grocery store and by telling you all about some of my favorite products via my blog! Now, if you have a Publix nearby, go shopping! All the P&G products are well worth your money, and you’ll absolutely love your free Publix chicken (we certainly did)!

Thank you to P&G for sponsoring my participation in this “One List Life” promotion. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions expressed here are my own.

I am soooo loving this wood block print “Be Awesome Today” that came up on my Pinterest stream last week! I love the clean design and the little stars make me feel happy. It’d go so fabulously in my office when I give it a redesign next year! I love “fun” motivational quotes/design.

It originally came up as just the poster, so then I clicked through… found the Etsy shop of LuciusArt… and fell in love with it! Pretty much all of this guy’s stuff is awesome. Here are a few more of my favorites….

Chicago Neighborhood 8×10 print – type art… if I could find something like this for Miami or South Florida, it would be mine.

More city art, in the form of a heart shaped map. Again, totally wish he had one for South Florida, but I dig the San Fran wood block art print. San Francisco is one of my favorite places on Earth! How cool would some of his city art pieces be in a travel-themed child’s room? I can almost see it now…

I have always dreamed of having a gorgeous, leather chaise lounge chair – like this one:

What’s not to love? The sparkly silver colored legs of the chair, the soft, gleaming white leather? This is a dream piece of furniture for our home, however while my little boy is still using crayons on the furniture rather than his coloring books, it’s a piece that will have to wait until our little one is a bit more grown up.

Not only do I love this chair because it looks comfy to relax on, it is also a really cool looking statement piece in an ultra-modern home.

In the mean time, since there’s no place for a chair like that in my house at the moment, I’ve been looking into expanding my patio decor, and I think that outdoor chaise lounge chairs would be a fabulous addition to our backyard!

This one looks super comfy and snuggly (especially with the pillow and the relaxing arm-rests):

We have an awesome, big backyard that is desperately lacking in seating arrangements. I love sitting outside and relaxing with a book while Zachary is playing outside with his toys and with our dog Maya, but there isn’t really any place comfortable to sit. It would be great to have a couple of these great chaise lounge chairs to sit on outside when having Zachary’s little friends over so that the mommies could have some relaxing time too!

Do you agree that the chaise lounge chair is the ultimate seating accessory? Do you own one for your house and totally love it? :)

So as much as I love growing herbs and veggies in my garden outside, when it comes to plants and flowers indoors, I am definitely NOT a green thumb! I’ve never been very successful at keeping plants inside my house alive, unless you count the “lucky bamboo” that the grocery store sells. But that stuff is near-impossible to kill.

My life is pretty busy so the last thing I’m really worrying about is the plants inside my house. The best kinds for me are the ones that you don’t water frequently — or at all!

One day my mom brought over an artificial plant to sit on top of my entertainment center, and wow – it made such a huge difference! I just love it because it is green all year long, and other than doing regular dusting of the area, I don’t have to worry about it or even water it.

Since our home is a bit dark and could use some color, I am also looking into adding some artificial flowers to brighten things up. It would be great to bring in some flowers that don’t grow very well here in Florida, like hydrangeas, or an artificial flower of something I’m not good at growing, like orchids, which I’ve managed to kill every time I attempt to grow them.

Aren’t these orchid bouquets pretty? High-quality artificial plants and flowers are well worth it when they look indistinguishable from the real thing. Make sure you check out 1001 Artificial Flowers or 1001 Artificial Plants when you’re shopping for great looking “greenery” for your home!

Thank you to P&G’s Have You Tried This Yet? program and Kroger for sponsoring my writing about trying new things and breaking out of my everyday routine. Click here to find great savings on high-performing P&G products at a Kroger store near you. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

-=-

Have you tried something new recently? I have. As you may remember, last month I attended the P&G “Have You Tried This Yet” media event right here in South Beach! I had a great time, and it was fun learning about the new P&G products. I was thrilled to be accepted to participate in the CleverGirls Collective “Try Something New” campaign with P&G and Kroger as a follow up to this event, because I did indeed try a new product, and I am now a COVERGIRL convert!! Allow me to explain…

I am what you may call an eye-makeup junkie, and I love makeup and the look of a “finished” eye. I have two gigantic pallets of name-brand eyeshadow purchased at a large and well known makeup store, as well as various other brands of eyeshadow stuffed into my bathroom drawer. Seriously, way more than I can ever use. And let’s not even talk about eyeliners, brushes, eye primers, etc. I have a lot of makeup.

But mascara? I’ve always had issues finding the right one for me. Usually they are too heavy, or too clumpy, or make my eyes itch, or I end up getting an infection because I can’t get it to wash off properly, even with makeup remover! Not to mention they have all been so expensive since I tend to buy the big name brands at the department store. What a waste that was!

The result is that I haven’t worn mascara in years! What’s a makeup lover to do?!

When I attended the P&G event here in South Beach, I was curious about their Lash Blast Fusion mascara. I haven’t worn any COVERGIRL makeup probably since I was in high school, so I was more than willing to try something new. After all, it couldn’t hurt. Plus, one of my favorite makeup artists was working the event that night, and I trusted her to make me look fabulous!

I knew I had a winner with COVERGIRL’s Lash Blast Fusion even before I looked in the mirror. After the makeup artist finished applying the mascara, it felt so incredibly light on my eyelashes that I had to ask her if she’d actually completed the application. After checking myself out, I couldn’t believe the difference. My lashes looked even longer (something I didn’t realize could be possible – I have long lashes already) and OMG – they were not clumpy or heavy looking!!!! I was in love!

I’m recommending COVERGIRL’s Lash Blast Fusion to everyone I know, now — and I’m so thankful that I didn’t give up on mascara and decided to try something new! P&G and COVERGIRL — you rock!

Last night, I attended Proctor & Gamble’s “Have You Tried This Yet” media event right here in Miami, along with PR professionals, bloggers, and other media — like Stacie from The Divine Miss Mommy (who invited me along), Desiree from Bottles to Britches, Rosy from Accidental Sexiness, Susset from Miami Beats & Sazon, Stefanie from Mommy Musings, and Alicia from The Mommy Insider!

“Have You Tried This Yet” is a P&G Pop Up Event in South Beach this week featuring dozens of P&G brands. Shoppers can stop in and try out or learn about all of the different products. This multi-faceted program is designed to showcase high-performing products with benefits that help consumers (such as busy moms like us!!) meet everyday needs.

My favorite part of the experience (well, aside from meeting so many great new people) was the makeup trial I had with COVERGIRL. Makeup artist extraordinare, Aradia, helped me out by showing off COVERGIRL’s new Lashblast Fusion Water Resistant Mascara. Unlike other mascara I’ve tried, the Lashblast actually goes on really light, and it truly is volumizing. I swear my lashes looked longer! I also enjoyed learning more about Tide with Actilift (since I’m a Tide user) and can’t wait to try out the new Swiffer that I received!

If you’re a P&G fan like I am, you should check out P&G’s brandSAVER in your coupon section. It’s a coupon booklet with crazy awesome savings on your favorite P&G products! I always clip my brandSAVER to pieces because there are SO many fantastic coupons and savings for so many products that I use all the time! You can register online to receive the savings, as well.

Miami friends, check it out this week!

The free, interactive P&G experience is located at 843 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach (in the Lincoln Road Mall) and will be open from Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Friday – Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and will offer free demonstrations and product samples from brands such as Pantene, Oral-B, Gillette, Downy, Swiffer, COVERGIRL, and Puffs, allowing consumers to experience first-hand the innovations each product offers. Check out more information here on P&G’s Have You Tried This Yet Campaign!

Here are some photos I took. For the photo-curious, I shot some images with my Point & Shoot, the Canon G11, and some images with my professional camera, the Canon 5D.

Clockwise from the top — Stacie from The Divine Miss Mommy after having her hair done by Pantene & makeup by COVERGIRL, a shot of the COVERGIRL counter with bloggers getting their makeup done, Rosy from Accidental Sexiness (two shots- one is of her getting her eye makeup done), Stefanie from Mommy Musings, palm trees, and finally a shot of some Tide with ActiLift & Downy and an arm’s length self-portrait of myself after having some COVERGIRL lipgloss and blush applied at the makeup counter.

Thanks P&G and Stacie! I had a great time learning more about P&G and its products!

Disclosure: I received sample products at the event, but was not otherwise compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.

I loooove shopping. However, most of my shopping usually deals with a certain three-foot-tall person in my life. It’s been a while since I spent money on things for myself. This past week I had a bit of fun shopping and got some awesome deals!

First off, I was in dire need of a new iPhone case. My old one was a free case provided by Apple when the iPhone 4′s reception problem came to light. The case was completely falling apart! My friend recommended me the case that she uses, and I purchased it, along with another one. The promotion at the time was for free shipping, so the total I spent on both cases was under $10! Here’s what I got:

Here’s a link to the purple argyle case (they have a ton of other colors too) and a link to the pink circles case which is my primary case right now.

Last weekend, my friend Amy and I took Zachary on a trip to the Colonnades at the Sawgrass Mills Mall, which is where all the designer outlet stores are. We stopped into the Kate Spade store and they had a fabulous bag on sale for a mere $53. When do you ever find a designer bag priced that low? Never! I had to get it.

The Flicker Metallic Bon Shopper. It’s on sale online, but not for $53!

Next in my shopping adventure, a little something for my biz. Believe it or not, but I have not upgraded my camera gear in over 3 years! The last lens I purchased was my 50mm lens back in December 2007. I’ve stuck with the same camera kit and while I feel that not spending money on additional gear has really allowed me to progress as a photographer because I’ve learned to use what I have VERY well, it’s been a long time, and I am ready to add a few new pieces to my collection.

When my photo buddy Joe let me know that he is selling off some of his Canon gear to make the switch to Nikon, I jumped at the chance to acquire a few new items, namely an additional flash, the Canon Speedlite 580 EX II Flash (which is an upgrade from my two EX I’s – and a much needed backup), and the 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens, which will allow me to take beautiful close-up macro shots of rings, wedding details, and even little sleeping babies! I’m so stoked to have a new lens and an additional flash to round out my collection. And since I purchased the items used, I was able to get a much better price!

Finally, I also “bought” another free book on Amazon Kindle for iPhone, called Dreaming Anastasia. Of course now it’s $7, so I’m pretty pleased with myself.

I like it so far, so you should check it out anyway. There are TONS of free Kindle books available all the time.

That’s all for today! :)
