I seriously can’t believe that I’ve lost 10lb since May! Just 2 months ago! My total loss since July 4, 2012 is 21.6 and I’m only 5lb from my next goal. I’m on a bit of a plateau right now, so I’m not sure if I’ll get there by the end of August, which I would love, but surely by the end of September.
I’ve met several milestones this month, most notably buying and wearing shorts for the first time in years (yes, years, even in Florida, I never used to wear shorts), dropping a size in pants, and jogging under a 16 minute mile for the first time in my entire life.
As a birthday gift to myself, I registered Adrian and I for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Virtual Fun Run/Walk 5k which must be completed before November, since Adrian has started running too! I’m super stoked about finishing the 5k as I’ve never done that before (neither has Adrian).
I am working hard to improve my time so that I can register for a “real” 5k, and I’m considering the September 11th Remembrance 5K here in Coral Springs. I’m not sure yet if I will be ready for it, but it looks like fun. In a few weeks I will evaluate my progress and decide whether I want to register for it or not.
I’m starting to think I should add another element to my workout routine. I really love doing Cardio Dance on the days I’m not jogging but I’m thinking about adding some weights. I have small weights (like 2lb, nothing special!) and am going to start looking for things I can do with them just to start.
It has been SO hot outside lately, but I really enjoy the time I get to go jogging and enjoy the outdoors. Here I am on yesterday’s outing. Unfortunately it was 94 degrees outside and I had to stop and (mostly) walk home from the halfway point – I just couldn’t really run anymore since it was so hot! I still got a great calorie burn though, and loved being outside.
