Zachary update & pictures

I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve updated! Zachary is doing very well. Thank you all so much for your comments, well wishes, and beautiful gifts. Everything is so appreciated, even if I don’t have time to respond to every comment right now.

Zach’s jaundice is pretty much gone. He is doing soooo much better and his skin looks great now. No more yellow! :) We had a follow up appointment with the pediatrician earlier this week who was pleased with his progress (as of Monday he was almost back to his birth weight), and I had my follow up with the OB, and she said I was doing great as well. My incision is healing, and while I probably won’t feel 100% for a while, I am at least starting to feel a little more like myself (aided by the fact that I’ve already lost 31lb since giving birth).

We brought Maya home the other day (my parents were watching her while I recovered) and she is doing GREAT with the baby! She is a fantastic little dog-nanny and is so careful and so interested in him. She’s really impressed everyone with how lovely she’s being with Zachary.

We have had lots of family over this week. My parents came by at the beginning of the week (big thanks to my dad for making us amazing brisket) and now Adrian’s family is visiting from out of town to meet the baby. Adrian’s mom & stepdad drove in from Tennessee yesterday afternoon, and his sister Lissa & brother-in-law Brij are flying in from New York tonight. They will be in town until Tuesday.

Here are some recent photos of Zachary from this week.

I’ll say this much: the kid will never have an embarassing photo with y’all around as parents. They’ll all be beautifully taken. :)

Very cute! I especially like the little rock band jumper.

Aw my favorite is the one where he’s looking right at you. Good choice of the Night Owl shirt, your sleeping days are over.

I can’t deal with the cuteness. He looks like a pink little bunny. I love the ones where you are holding him. He is all, “I have it great. Best Mommy ever!”

Oh my, Karen, he’s absolutely gorgeous. What a little heartbreaker. :) I love the photo of him in your arms as he looks up at you, that’s just darling.

Also, I have that same shirt! :D
